Hello,
I have been doing magic for awhile and recently I did a paid peformance at a Christmas party as a courtesy to my father. Well, The organization which I did the party for has asked me to do a larger 2-hour Icebreaker doing walk-around for an upcoming convention. I think the convention attendance is going to be around 1,600. I think other entertainers are also being hired. I am really excited, and would like to accept the job, but I am unsure of how much to charge. I haven't done many paid performances, but that doesn't necessarly reflect my ability. I don't want to undercut the average price for a magician for this type of perfomance, but I also realize I don't have a lot of paid performance experience. Help or suggestions are really appreciated -Jason |

Jason, even if you have not done many paid shows, if you feel that you are really good at what you do (you must be or they would not ask you back). Why not let them set the price in accordance with what they are paying the other performers. Since your father works there, they will be fair. Or if not comfortable with that idea, use the price you charged for the first show as a guide & charge for the extra time.
