Glass or salt shaker through table is a good one.

Simple coin magic or flurishes are perfect for walking around. Carry some rubber bands and perform Crazy Man's Handcuffs. You usually can't go wrong with money magic.

Hi,
I am a fan of mentalism for anytime anywhere effects. There are so many that you can do with little to no preparation. Check out the work of Richard Osterland, Banacheck, and Max Maven. All have effects that can be done with very little preparation time, but still play big. . .at most, you may have to borrow a pen and paper, but how much better does it get than to use these two borrowed objects to entertain with. Give some mentalism a try, and you are always ready to do something when called upon.
Never underestimate your ability to touch the lives around you in so many ways!

Okay... lets think alittlebit about this...
if you often come up in situations where people ask you ´´can you do something for me´´ Then you are 100% sure that someone will ask you the same question again?! so why are´t you just prepared!? But when you think about it... if you have studied the classics in magic like ex. cigarette magic... then you can apply this to things around... because it´s not just a cigarette that has the same qualities as a cigarette... so other than the fact that a cigarette is lit... then you just have the shape.. and some small pens can be vanished just like a cigarette. But lets face it... you cant have a strong effect... just by making a pen vanish like a cigarette! so you need to be prepared! So you have to think about the environments that people ask you to magic... maybe you go to a café very often... or maybe a restaurant... so go to this restaurant or Café.. and find objects that you can do magic with... and practise it... it´s all about beeing prepared... you can also make a gimmick that is made out of an object they only have at that restaurant of Café... and make it even stronger. But also a thing I was afraid of years ago was to walk around with objects that I can do magic with... maybe not just a deck of cards or coins.. but invisible gimmicks like a thumb tip... because the spectators are not going to see it anyway! also having things in you pocket that may seem natural... like rubber bands or what so ever.. I hope this little essay made any sense... because being prepared is the only way to be one step ahead! - Kalle Moen |

I couldn't agree more, Mr. Moen!
