I recently had an idea and it works great. All you need is a party popper and an appearing cane tied to the string from the popper to the hole at the top of the cane. Thus, when you release it, there is a bang and streamers and of course a cane!

Hmmmm. I was just wondering that myself. I'd say paint it, so that it looks like part of the cane, but it will more than likely go flying across the stage. I wonder if it might just catch up to the streamers.
