I had to post this using Firefox.
I've looked and experimented to no avail. Also tried shutting down and bringing the computer back up. On IE7, for some reason.... - Clicking on a link (say, a thread in the Café) will bring up a new tab. The more links you click on, the more tabs I get. - I cannot type anything to post or search. Some keys do nothing. Others act as shortcuts. For example, pressing a letter key will activate the bookmark option, another letter key will 'paste' the whatever it was I copied last. Any thoughts?

I had this once only not all in IE. My desk stays pretty much cluttered all the time. It ended up being part of a stack of papers was holding down the control key. That fixed it for me but I had a room mate in college that had his key board go bad and do the same thing. It was "stuck" in control key mode.
May want to see if all the functions that it is doing is a control key issue or a messy desk issue as is was for me. Just a thought. |

You're complaining because you only have ONE problem with IE7? I don't even want to go into some of the weirdness I've had to deal with on mine. On the other hand, now that I think of it, IE7 IS a Microsloth product!
Personally, I use either Netscape or Firefox. Both seem to have far fewer issues. Can anyone list any other good web browsers?

I think IE7 just takes a little time to get used to. I hated it when I upgraded because most of my familiar tools were no longer in the same location so I had to play hide and seek to find them. I still have not found all of the tools I use.
As far as tabs go, just hit the red x on the tab and presto! it is gone. I still don't see any improvement over IE6 but then again I only use a few of the available tools. I don't believe I will upgrade to the next rev when it comes out. Iven

Well, problem solved. Don't know how, but it just stopped. I have had the "click on link = open in new tab" issue before, and it just went away on its own, as it did today. Strange....

Go to Internet options and select the general tab. There you will find a section for tabs. You can then select how you the tabs to behave.
