Hi guys,
When it comes to putting together a costume for your act, how many here actually have something specially designed and built as opposed to finding something "just right" pre-made? Thanks, Richard |

I would think that I fall into the majority of folk who find something pre-made and have it re-made to be just right.

I made my own costumes in my show for years. I was professinal costume designer, stitcher, pattern maker and I have my BFA in Design- Sets lights and costumes. as well as a BFA in Puppetry and a BFA in Directing for theater.
I still stitch on occasion.. I recently made some stuff for my friend Ron Fitsgerald in Chicago, my friend Ralis here in Los Angeles, and my freiend and fellow magic Café member Walt Anthony |

All of my costumes are made or ordered just for my show or a particular act. It just depends on how much professionalism you want to put into your show, and of course money.

Its always good to find the right thing. I have been lucky to find what I truly needed. Now there are also some shirts, vests, jackets, and pants that I have to have re-sewn to fit a specific need. If you don't know what to do I suggest getting with your magic friends and figure out what you need to do. Also if you don't have the skills or the time find someone to do it for you.
Of course this is the more expensive way but saves time. Hope this helps. Best Brandon

Everything I wear was custom designed, and tailored.
