The things I make most often are fire tools- Fire Claws, Fire Fans, Goblets, umbrellas etc. These are made from steel, and steel rusts just sitting around.
I am looking for a clear coat or glossy black that I can paint the tools with to keep them from rusting, yet won't be in any danger of burning. I have thought about powder coating, but that might be cost prohibitive. I really just want something I can spray on myself. That way I can do touch ups as needed without having to take off the wicks and have them recoated. Is there a gloss black or clearcoat that would be fire resistant? I have thought about woodstove paint, but it is a matte finish. Any thoughts? Gwyd |
