I am looking for a set of brass cups and balls, NO chop. My budget is between $30 and $75. I bought a set of uday cups which was a big mistake.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you were to speed a litle bit more money. You can get a real set of cups.
http://www.rnt2.com Look in the mean stream line you can find great cups for a fare price. I was looking for a set just like you back before Christmas. I bought a set of copper cups for RNT2 and had been a fan of their work ever since. Trust my you well not be disappointed like the Uday cups you got. Just my two cents SeanD13 |

Although I'd go for something better, I understand people have to start somewhere.
Have you considered the Bazar de Magia brass cups? They're better than the Udays and are in your price range.

How well do the bazar de magia cups stack? If they wobble like the uday cups they are out of the question.

I have copper Bazar de Magia cups. My set has a very, very slight wobble when stacked. I have no idea how much wobble other manufacturers may have, but I cannot see how the tiny, tiny wiggle in my cups could be considered an issue really.

As long as it doesn't create a visible curve, then I'm fine with that.

Some wobble is to be expected unless you're buying high end cups. But even Cellini's cups (very well made professional cups) wobble pretty badly by virtue of their tapered design. Cellini takes advantage of this during one of his cup stack moves.

Just so you understand one thing about cups. If you buy cheap cups you will be buy them again and again. If you buy go cups you only have to buy them once.
You end up spending less money in the long run if you buy a good set of cups. But if you are stuck on your $75 limit. Then you are better to to get a set of cups. Aluminum Monti Cups for RNT2 they are only $64.95. You are not going to get good brass for $75. Talk with Bill or Mad Jake (the guy that makes the cups at RNT2). He is always on the forum. Try this link http://www.rnt2.com/product.aspx?productno=319 They will be a good solid cup not like the cheap $10 aluminum cups you have seen before. Ask around you will see what I mean. My two cents, SeanD13 |

Also consider this. Cheap cups are not going to have the same kind of quality control that expensive ones will. You may find a perfectly acceptable set of cups from a manufacturer, order a set, and find out that the set you got wasn't as good as the set you saw in the store.

You will be very happy!! By the way, this will cost less than a Rolls Royce automible and you will have the Rolls Royce of Cups. In the overall view of things the price of this set of Cups is in line with the product quality. Regards, Bill Sutter |

1. Don't all cups wobble after you've dropped them a few times?
2. Yes, sometimes you pay more to get what you want but sometimes you pay a LOT more and still don't get what you want. |

It also depends what you want to use them for (close-up, busking, etc).
You're going to have to push your budget up a bit to get a really nice set of cups. What will you get for your money? You'll get a set that are well-made, look good and will last. Other than the good suggestions offered above, you might be able to get a set of Phoenix cups on eBay for around $60. They have their flaws, but are certainly durable.

I know I have not seen any Phoenix cups on Ebay in a long time.
Now, I have seen a lot of MM cups on there, but not lately. The guy from Magic 4 Less may of run out, but you could send him an email. I am not a big fan of MM cups. I not to sure who would be a MM fan. There has to be one out there somewhere. right?? |

An eBay auction for a set of Phoenix cups ended last week. Winning bid $96. Alternatively, you could e-mail Tom Frank and see what he's got available.

Another source is cupsandballs.nl Aukie does some beautiful CNC work, as well as with the Johnson cups. If you have 375.00 get the Sherwoods, if you can save up more, get the Porper Brass, that way you can load a regulation Baseball.
Which ever set you choose, I would stick my 2cents in and say get them when you have decided exactly what you want and expect from them. Brass will be increasing again this year according to our vendor, so expect to see it go up again everywhere.

Thanks for the help everyone. I am happy to say that I just got a set of Bazar cups an ebay for $26. I saw these in the person and will be very happy with them.
I just got the set in the mail today, and these are fantastic. Nice and heavy. Spun very well and have an awesome ring when they hit each other. The balls are very nice too, good material they are made out of. Thanks for the help everyone.
