Picked this up at the MC Swap meet this weekend. I really like his craftsmanship.
My question is, does anyone else own any of his 'wide' rod type paddles? I'm struggling with the move due to the width of the rod. (unlike a standard rod which is square and easier to perform the move). In addition, the metal is very smooth and my thumb usually slides over it instead of turning it. Thoughts/comments appreciated. A light touch might help, also if you hands are dry you may need to moisten them.

Thanks for the response Pete. But wouldn't more moisten hands be even slipperier on the rod? I'll still give it a shot though. And I've found if I use the crease between the first finger' tip and 2nd section, I can usually perform the manouver. Its taking a bit to get used to the new position where I normally would hold it much closer to the end of the finger tip.

Give it time and you'll find the grip that works for you.

I would agree with lightning the grip. With the squared edges it does not really take much to accomplish the move. I have fairly strong hands and it worked for me.
