Hello Everyone,
This is a pretty rough video of my four card routine. Nothing final at all, but please what do you think of the presentation. And do realize, things you may have saw in the routine, I saw as well. http://media.putfile.com/Four-Card-Routine |

Cute story, but you really need to clean up the handling.

The presentation seems a bit weak to tell the truth.
Now I am going to do this, now I am going to do that. The mechanics need work, but you said you already know that.

There are a good number of well-known routines that are named by a running gag or phrase that is repeated excessively throughout the routine; two that jump to mind might be Dingles' "Too Many Cards" and "Poor Charlie". In that same spirit, I can't decide whether you should call your routine "Now...", "Right?" or "Alright?".

Landels,
My suggestion is to speed up your pace. I would think over time this routine can be edited to about 3 minutes. Personally I feel that a magician should do something magical in the first 30 seconds. Your magic started at 1:45. A good example of a great story based routine is Sam the Bellhop by Bill Malone. Bill Malone hits the audience with jokes and magic right from the start. The audience is immediately focused on what is being presented. Keep working on the routine. I look forward to seeing more in the future. ~John |

Thanks for the comments,
Keep in mind that I am only 13, and have only been doing this for a year and a half. |

He already said it was a rough video and he saw his own errors, I was more paying attention to your style, this is what people remember about you. I think you have a good personable character (even to imaginary volunteers) you already know to work on your patter and I think you'll be very memorable. I like the vest look. I agree with John, hit them with a bit of magic right away. This would be a good routine more toward the middle of a card act. Good job.

If you keep up at this pace, I believe you will be successful in the near future.
