Those are the REAL measurements of the box. I have the IntruderBox plans but built mine a lot smaller.

Cmon, guys... I agree that the base and the finishing scheme could use some work, but that's what we are here for - to give some useful suggestions.
A standard deck railing is about 36 inches high. If the decking is 2x6 boards, which it appears to be, each box could really be about 11" wide x 12" high x 16" deep. The base appears to be about 28 - 30 inches front to back. This one in on the ground, so it might look stranger than it would if it were raised like the original. If you don't have Rand Woodbury's Base Book, I would suggest getting it for some concrete ideas on how to make a base more deceptive. Saman's original base was about 60x40 with a 24" wide "hidey-hole". The boxes were about 10" - 11" long. I say keep working on it, incorporating some of the Base Book ideas. Once you and your assistant start working with it, you might also find that some of the dimensions can be smaller. Good luck.

As far as I know this prop will never see a stage it is just a working prototype (but this is not up to me). Laci200 was right the tape was put on in a hurry (15 mins) just to take the picture, as the whole Illusion is being left flat black (no paint job).

Illusionman2,
I put a smile after my sentence in my last post. It might help if you paint the box totally different color. As makeupguy suggestted you need new design right underneat the box. That's why looks your box too high. The prop is not nice because everything is black except the tapes. Rip off those tapes and try to repaint your prop. You have the original file why not just paint the same way? Best Las |

Paint job not up to me (not my job) same thing with the base (it was put on just a simple base). My job was to nail down the measurments and provide a working prototype.

Okay, so this sheds a lot of light on the subject. As long as this is a prototype, you are headed the right direction.

SORRY, but.....
I think a blind man could see where the girl has gone. Illusion bases have moved on. Tough, but "if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!" |
