EPU is about doing a few tricks with a really clean and cool method.
Another version is called Siamese coins and that has an associated video. Once you get the idea your wheels might start to turn on their own. Then you will be rolling. Get rolling

I read about Siamese coins too but as I remember, I think that EPU had nothing to do with gimmicked coins...
Which of the two do you recommend??? Which is more practical? Is it exactly the same gimmick?

Both involve a gimmick. One is 'one less' than the other and a bit more flexible in application. Tim Wenk should get the props for getting clever with the principle.
My feeling is that the video with Siamese coins may get you moving faster, BUT since so much is given you may be less creative later. I saw Tim Wenk's EPU when it first arrived in 78. Later I returned to the idea and invented something very like the Siamese coin stuff on my own and included one application in my lecture notes in '85. You can decide between a nifty coin assembly method that may inspire you versus a video full of ideas and a 'nicer' made gimmick. price/inspiration/quality of manufacture. If you want to discover for yourself, then EPU may inspire you. If you want to just get moving with a huge push, then Siamese coins AND VIDEO. Have fun either way. Sorry, my notes are not for sale anymore. Besides there was only one appliation of the thing and I wanted to keep the rest of the material very secret at the time.

Ok, of course I will get EPU! I prefer to discover and create... but do you know where I can find it? I read about EPU before 10-12 years and always have it in my mind. I forgot about it for a long time and I really do not know how I remembered it now! I always wanted to purchase it and see what this gimmick is about. Any help? Also EPU and Siamese work with exactly the same principle?
Thank you very much, I got your private message

I bought my EPU about 6 years ago at Hank Lee's. I think they still might have it.
Once you learn the priciple of the gimmick you can let a craftsman make your own variation (type of coins/number of coins). There are also a couple of routines in Coinmagic, I think by Ed Marlo...

I will try at Hank's... Do you use it? Is it practical the use of the principle of the gimmick?

I tried several months ago to order EPU from several on line sources including Hank Lee and everytime I was told it was out of stock. I just searched Hank's site and EPU did not come up, just a manuscript. If anyone knows if EPU is still available somewhere, please let me know.

It makes for some pretty cool effects. But I never used it in the real world, don't know why. It's defenitely not unpractical...
If I would choose one coin assembly/matrix effect now I'd go for Explosion, which is another story.
