Or it wasn't on the news in your area, Dan Meyer swallowed a sword in the shark tank at Ripley's in Myrtle Beach (not sure if this is the same tank that Harley has some familiarty with, maybe he can chime in) on Friday, here's the link to a youtube vid of it

I've said before and I will say it again...there is no such thing as a sane sword swallower.

Pretty cool, it must be harder under water as you have more conflicting forces- current, animals, the fact that your under water- would hate to suck in water.
very neat indeed. thanks for the vid. |

Cool ...... I would love to swim with sharks! But not the sword bit ....
But I must say that is an amazing camera view! |

Yay Dan! Cool idea!
Hope he didn't swallow much water. Not my shark tank. I was chained up and dropped in. It was very interesting to finish the escape (with time to spare, as I wasn't wearing tanks, and had to swim a distance also) and be staring a couple of those babies right in the face. They were very curious, just checking out the thing that was different.

I think it's EASIER doing it this way.
If the shark attacks you have a sword to defend yourself If you cut yourself, the salt water will wash out the wound. And if you start to drown you can be sure someone will rescue you since their all watching the sharks! |

So much easier you thought you would post it twice! Do you feel it is twice as easy?
I wonder if anyone will do it with the modelling balloon version (i know it wouldn’t work) if the shark attacked what would you do? I don’t think they are a fan of balloon sculpting. And I don’t think a balloon sword will harm them much. I like the salt water point.... but won’t the blood attract the sharks??? Oh well like you said he had a sword. |

Wasnt Space Cowboy the first to do this? Either way an amazing performance. Much respect.

Surely in space is impossible (well not on a space station but I mean like in space). The helmet would get in the way?

Yes Space Cowboy was the first to do it that I know of in picture form, I've never seen any video of him doing it not to mention his was in Australia(not saying he didn't do it, I've just never seen it happen as I'm sure most people haven't). Just found this interesting because it took place in Florida and was actually picked up nationally on a lot of affiliates (here in Philadelphia area for example), plus Dan is the Executive Director of the SSAI. Sorry for the confusion didn't mean to insinuate this was the first time this was done. But it is the first time this has been done in the US, which is what most of the news agencies have been making clear.

Space Cowboy, Tiger Lil, and Captain Frodo are the Happy Sideshow, a group of very creative and talented performers, usually found in Australia, and sometimes elsewhere (like Edinborourgh).
Frodo used to work with John Kamikaze, another top-notch performer, also a creative nutcase (a high compliment from me).
