Umpteen years ago, 30 to 40 perhaps longer, I had an effect that appeared in a Nelson publication that used a boxed deck of cards as an impression device. I remember that about the time it came out, I came across Annemann's "Mental Masterpiece". The two were so similar that it looked like I might have copied Ted's device. I was angry with Bob over that because he had to be aware of the similarities, and he went ahead and published it anyway. You picked apart the card case. Using a very fine sand paper, sanded down the inside surface, attached a sensitive pencil carbon inside the case, and a thin bank paper on the back of the joker, put the case back together, and the deck in it, and you were ready to go. The only reason I mention this is to point out how far back some of these things go. To this day I wish Bob had not printed my version.

I've ditched the card box idea (always felt slightly odd to me anyway) and now I use Rick Roth's 'Son Of Mindscan' pads. You can get 'em from Outlaw Effects.

I think I wrote this at least three times during the years, in this forum...
But here it goes once again - If you smoke, why not using a pack of cigarettes ? Or the card case itself with no preparation whatsoever? Both have one thing in common...
Then you'll rise right before my eyes, on wings that fill the sky, like a phoenix rising!

For better or worse, the US is pretty much a non-smoking country. Sorry Paolo...

Mesmer,
I wasn't aware of Paul Vigil having a version of Divine Write. What are you referring to? -rob |
