Last names usually came from what you did for work like Shoemaker they made shoes, I`m guessing that Copperfield had something to do with electrical motors, or generators, which have field windings made of copper wire. So the 30 to 50, DC motors and generators I have are constructed in this manner.
An interesting thing I thought of when I first heard of his name, I did relate it to a six pole copper wound field unit I seen at the time.

He was abducted by aliens and is now learning all of David Copperfield's secrets so when they return him (hopefully undamaged) he will be the next big TV star magic celebrity and you'll all be sorry you laughed at him.

Copperfield, there is a natural sane explaination of everything he does, most of which I have figured out.

Sure there is, I have learned many things in the past months getting into magic. Magic is very mechanical, and I do enjoy learning and doing it. I've always been good at mechanical things. I started out young fixing, building, and inventing.

Ok Marshall, tell us your story with Copperfield.
You seem to hate him so much, that there must be something behind that...

I can see some jealousy on someone in here,I guess we all get that way.I do give David credit on getting himself out there in the media with a good show.our local theater was full when he came to Fort Wayne a few weeks ago.anny one can do that with hard work & skill. my family & freinds were suprised when I was 20 years old building a road utility trailer form a old hay wagon with out my father or freinds help then taking it to florida that fall on a 2,600 mile trip with no falures of the welds or frame it was loaded full.see what I`m getting at is with determanation & skill you can do amazing things

No! We want to hear! Applauding DC is fine, but hearing a contrary opinion is enlightening.
