Hello guys and gals,
Just ordered the Bigger Book of BOO and seen this on the same web site! Original music for a Séance! Music For A Ghost Hunt http://www.jewelpro.com/boo/audio.html I emailed them and this is what he (Larry) said about the music. "Nothing but music. I had it composed and recorded so that there are tonal/thematic changes that broke it into segments. They are not tracks...its one piece but the "mood" changes as the séance progresses, so you go from one type when you "lecture" the sitters about ghosts/spirits, etc. Then the mood changes as you "call" for IT to make its presence known if it is here, and finally The Visit is where the ghost shows up - be it spirit writing or whatever." Sounds good! Are there any other music made for a séance or anything good for setting the mood of ghost hunting? Best Ray Noble |

I'm kind of partial to the Aeolian Windharp. It makes a nice background prop and it only begins to play when spirits are present to create an "ethereal wind."

How do you use the windharp in your seance, do you use a fan to get it going?

I can use a fan to demonstrate how it works, but then I have a tiny digital voice recorder with a speaker fastened to the soundbox, with the speaker right up against the sound box so that it vibrates the box in an erie sort of way. The recorder is started right after my "demonstration" of the wind harp, and it has a pre-recorded blank section that is timed so that the wind harp music will begin when my "guests" show up. I liked the effect of this so much that I have a duplicate wind harp in my home garden that my non magical guests think is the same one I use on stage or in the seance parlor. The music of the wind is really very soothing.

WOW! what a new and cool idea. Would it be posible to use a hand fan our would it have to be a power fan? so you use a recording of its sounds instead of the wind after the demonstration of how it works?

I have never tried one of these on it, although I have used these in haunted house type situations to blow out candles as the spirit passes by. It might be worth playing with.

Other good mood enhancing music are groups like Midnight Syndicate or Nox Arcana.

I get sent this so-called Gothic music all the time for review from a distributor called Cold Meat Industry in Sweden. Their catalogue is worth a look but beware the post-industrial noise mixed in with the medieval sounds.

For my Erotic Seance I use a couple of tracks from Enigma because of their hypnotic rhythm. I also love Tulku. The AirZooka is very cool in a noisy environment. A friend did it to me before I knew what it was and it totally spooked me!

I suggest you the soundtrack of "Profondo Rosso" by Dario Argento: both the main soundtrack and the children lullaby of the movie are scaring enough for a spirit seance!
