"Where do the ducks go?" ... Does anyone sells this prop also? If there are many bulders, what is the best place to buy it?
Thanks, Jürgen, |

I saw that Snap Illusions sells this. I don't own it, so I can't vouch for anything. They also sell a duck pail like Milo's

Both Owens and David Mendoza have great versions. Mine was made by Chalet, but I doubt that you could get George to commit to anything right now.

Here is a custom version I built for Ray Lum a few years back.
http://www.wolfsmagic.com/MS_Lum_Duck.htm The profile of the main box was a bit taller than I prefer but Ray needed it to hold a GIANT Owen Egg. It was a fun project and I MIGHT add it to my line of magic. The jagged pinstripe along the sides of the receiving table is not paint or tape but an actual metal rod bent, painted and installed. There are a lot of other fabrication subtlties that make it very unique. Enjoy. Chance

The inventor of the trick was a man named Doc Nixon, a plumber-turned-magician, who used to perform it on the vaudville circuit in a show called Hong Kong Mysteries. He sold the rights to Abbott's when he retired.
One of the important points of the original trick was to lead the audience to conclude the ducks must be in the table, until the table skirt is removed and the table is tipped forward to show it does not even have a top surface. I haven't seen any of the modern versions in person, but from the photos they seem to be lacking this feature. |
