Could be fake, you do not see what actually happens, it is edited a bit suspicious, but bacause it is tv and not just a internet video it could be real, in which case: wow, how stuoid can someone be. I mean, even if it would not be TV, how can you doe this without knoweing what to do(ok, camera made pressure on him) btw I am from austria(sdo I know what he talks), anyway: I am somehow interrested in the trick itself(how it should work. maybe I will try this.
can someone please pm me a tutorial, bit I have kind of an idea, maybe the something is m*rked(would be cheap, but somehow ää safe lol mfg |

I had another look on it.
watch the woman how she says notrhing when he is about to smash the nail-cup. and then the reaction of the woman after the accident, she does not seem to be very shocked, rather bored. that made me laugh heavily! mfg |

Well, if you believe Saturday Night Live Skits and German TV - they might be saying "It iz az boring as being alive -yawn"... those two women look like they have seen it all... also, it could be they are in shock...
I think it is all real because it seems so mundane... and if it isn't real - I'm sure it captures something that really happened! Plus, get for a nice tense presentation. Plus for Grand Guignol-style mentalism - this guy will get repeat bookings (they will boo him off the stage if he doesn't impale himself)

It is real and the guy even got booked to a famous tv show in Germany just because of this clip. Stupid...

Oh dear, oh dear. He actually said to the hosts, 'that isn't how the trick's meant to go...'

I used to know three peole who were perfoming different variations of this effect. I say used to because ALL of them have had this incident. They were all very good, very seasoned and some very well known performers. Even with the cup marked it is still possible, because you can be thinking. "not this one," and then in the heat of the moment confuse yourself into a "this one," state of mind. I call it a brain fart. We all have them. To me it is not a mark against him that he messed up the effect per say, more because he decided to do it in the first place, and on television no less. What a stupid trick, and to put one of your most important assets, your hands, on the line for it.

I remember seeing a show, I believe it was called "When Magic goes wrong"... They had a few people messing up this trick. It is always painful to watch. And those messing up are not always amateurs who do not know what they are doing!

Not one of those times when a "near-miss" pays off, huh! By the way, is this a new version of "Stigmata"? Haha, j/k-- I am a jerk
