I do it, but with many modifications. Replaced DBC by TC. Replaced Flash change by Sankey's 'Pancake Toss'.

Joshua, if we're speaking about what Roth's calling "Spellbound" in his Vids, which is a silver changing to copper and vice-versa using the DBC for one phase of the routine, then yes, it is worth studying and performing. That's why I kept trying and finally adapted it to my style since the Flash Change was impossible for me to do. God I hate DBC. I had Roth himself show me the move in detail when I last met him, and still... nada. Tenkai Clip was the way to go for me.

Only limitation is I do it for a few people owing to TC angles. Hey Mike! Good to see you! BTW... Your effects on the Copper/Silver DVD just rock! Amazing... Phedon

Well I generally only perform for a few at a time some that works, I only ask cause you know if the angles are so bad that its like they have to be on top of you. but anyway I just wanted to hear wants some peoples experience with it

Joshua,
Which version are you thinking of? Roth has a gimicked and ungimicked version of the effect. I have performed the ungimmicked version in the past. I found it is only good for a small audience (1-2) who are pulled in close. The hands must be held low as the good angles are from the top. You can do it on an outstretched hand if you like. I remember putting in A LOT of effort to get the DBC changes smooth and without flashing. I don't perform this one any more as it takes too much effort for me to keep it performance ready. Cheers =D

I have been practicing it for about a year and a half almost daily and I think it is a beautiful routine. However, I have yet to perform it in front of spectators, but I think I will get up the nerve soon, because it has become almost second nature to me now.....
Where I go, so do my coins.....

The DBC is certainly a move worth learning. I will never forget as a youngter seeing Roth do a coins across using DBC to do a double steal -it was one of the most magical things I ever saw. His DBC copper silver is wonderful. You might also want to chack out Geoff Latt's DBC copper silver taught in the new copper silver DVD set from the NYCMS group - it includes a detailed explanation of Latta's DBC recovery, that has never been published before.
S.E.M. (The Sun, the Moon, and the Earth) is a sun and moon routine unlike any other. Limited to 100 sets, here is the promo:

For those who like to go the extra mile, or few inches in this case, try using Roth's flashchange or floperino as the start of a shirt or jacket pocket ditching action. There's plenty of cover as their eyes go wide at the mid-air change of the coin which lands in your other hand and you have no rush to let your hand come down and then turn palm up to receive the coin as you toss it back.
This in print yet? Was lots of fun way back when and it seemed a natural.

It sounds like a nice move, as the coin after the flash change stays in a great position to be ditched in the pocket.
It's not such a difficult move, requires an amount of practice but it deserves it. DBC is such a versatile move and apparently, it has gotten the interest of many coin magicians on the present. Imagine this true gem has been for years in print on Roth's extraordinary book. And fortunately, we also have Jon to give us insights and additional informacion on this. Antonio |

Jonathan,
Yes! I am so addicted to the pocket ditch cleanup, that I always wear shirts with a pocket these days. I'm too anxious about missing my "shirt button topit" Cheers! =D

Been wondering if it's worth going to a tailor to have some pockets reworked so that they are not patch but instead have a pocket behind the cloth.

If you can DBC with both hands, and get into it without using the thumb, you can do a lovely in the hands metamorphosis change type move.
