Greetings Juggling Lovers!
What kind of music do you use in your juggling shows? Or What kind of music do you use when practicing? Thanks Chuck |

I do wear my 4G nano ipod around my neck when I practice. I tell bad jokes when I perform, but I always practice humming a tune.

When I design a cabaret show, I decide on the mood I want to achieve with my performance. From there I can choose costume, setting and music. For example, I have a routine where I do a lot of tricks with plates. I decided to set this in a restaurant and play a man waiting for a date who starts to play with the things on his table. Thus my costume was a smart suit, my props were a table, two chairs, some cutlery (which I juggled), a rose in a bottle (I balance the rose on my nose and then catch it between my teeth, I'm learning bar flair to do tricks with the bottle), the aforementioned plates (which I manipulate - see http://www.trickswithhats.org for examples of tricks) and a table cloth (with which I will eventually do the table cloth trick). The music has to be appropriate to the setting and so is instrumental and fairly slow (as you would expect in this type of restaurant). This routine runs 10 minutes but will eventually run fifteen to twenty.
I have other routines that use different music dependant on whether I want to depict a particular country, a speed of performance, a style of movement or whatever is most suitable for the props and the occasion. Nigel
I knew a man who kept saying "pliers, pincers, scissors". He was speaking in tongs.
