This is one of the many works from Japanese magician Tomoyuki Shimomura. Does anybody know if he has published any of his material in English?
Effect/Patter: "Have you been a playing card factory? The other day, I observed a playing card factory in US. Just then they manufactured jumbo cards there. Do you know? In order to manufacture jumbo cards, they manufacture regular size cards firstly. Now, I explain you. Please lend me your deck of cards. I hold a card between other two cards and stretch it like in this way."picking up three cards from the deck, putting one card between other two cards, waving cards like stretching, they will enlarge gradually. Saying "Doing like this way about a half hour, Jumbo card will be completed, but today, we have no time so return it.", enlarged card will shrink in front of spectator's eyes, there only three regular size cards remain in the magicians hands. Wow, I didn't expect that. Very nice, although people would most likely grab for the cards which wouldn't turn out well.
But nonetheless good job, I love seeing refreshing magic like this, and it's usually from Japan hehe. |

That was great. A nice variation of Peter Kane's "The Lady Stretches" card trick.

People grabbing the cards? They are both impolite and rude and you have lost control.

The cliche of, "If the audience wants to see the cards, you haven't done your job", is just that, a bad magic generalization. There are times when people just want to see the cards, and you either have to show them, or risk having them think that your magic was accomplished using some sort of gimmick. |

Peter Duffie is currently offering Trancefusion, based on Peter Kane's effect, on his web page. There is a very nice video demo (www.peterduffie.com).
