Yo, I have just seen this workshop, and all I have to say is WOW!
I had no idea you could do so much with some of these gaffs. Everything was well taught, and he went over anything again if people had a problem following. I would strongly recommend this workshop to anyone, beginner or pro. Marty is a great teacher, and such a really nice guy, I may even make the trip up north to catch this again. S. |

Greetings;
Thanks guys for the kind comments. This workshop will teach you effects and routines to do with your gaffed cards that you already have. It will cover tricks and effects with double face, double back, blank face, same both sides and more. Just about everyone has some gaffed cards sitting in a drawer gathering dust, now you can take them out, dust them off and learn what to do with them. The Pro-Packs are just about sold out, less than 60 decks left and then they are history. I'm looking forward to seeing you guys there, bring a deck of cards and your gaffs and plan on spending a couple hours learning some great magic. All the Best Marty |

I met Martini last year at MANC when he gave a lecture about Harry Houdini in cinema. He's scheduled to do the same about Orson Welles' magic career at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention in September in Maryland and I am looking forward to that. (www.midatlanticnostalgiaconvention.com) As for this one, thanks for putting me on to it, Eddie. I am so there. Martini (or Marty) is a great lecturer and I have never been disappointed. (www.mingusmagicshop.com)
By the way, Martini, I am attending the Funarama Convention in Aberdeen in July. I understand you are heavily involved with the event but also lecture and perform as well. Hope to see Eddie also. I was told he was there last year and the year before. (www.martinismagic.com) |

Greetings Shelbyvinje;
Welcome to the Café. I will be doing a talk on Orson at that convention and also performing one of his personal tricks there as well. I recieved a great response from the talk on Houdini last year, and am looking forward to this year. Thank you for the kind words, glad that you enjoy my material. As far as the Funarama, heavily involved is an understatement, my family and I have been putting this on for the past 6 years now. The convention was originally a clown convention called the Big 3, run by Lou Walston at the Funhouse in Baltimore. Lou stopped at the 20th. Big 3 and I took over. The first thing we did was change the name and the convention to include magic, clowning, juggling, face painting, balloon sculpting, and all aspects of entertainment. In short we have made it a variety entertainers convention. While I am all over the place during the convention, you can find me most often at my dealers table, so stop by and introduce yourself. I'd be there if not for the fact I'm away during that period. If you're anywhere within driving distance I should think this would be a must attend lecture and at $10 is a steal. I'm sorry I have to miss this one. Host Wayne often provides snacks too!

It was another great lecture by Marty!! I especially liked his handling of McDonald Aces and yes the version of NFW...that one made total sense. Hopefully someone will convince him to at least put that on an audio cd or even a dvd.
Wonder what else he has instore for the upcoming year. George |

Greetings Guys;
Thank You for the kind comments George, a couple of guys have already called me asking the same thing about the NFW. I will see Gary Freed at Metro Magic in New Jersey in November, and I'll run it by him as NFW is his trick so he would have to see it and give his O.K. I certainly would not do it without his permission. The McDonalds Aces is just another example of what I explained in the lecture, making these routines easy so you can concentrate on the presentation. In my older age, it also benefits to do this as memory will soon start to wander, or so I am told.lol Glad you all had a good time, that was the goal, making your card magic easy and fun. Greetings Al;
We had Bob going pretty good with that last year.lol I'm looking forward to Metro Magic myself, we have some new items that we are bringing up with us, and it is always good to see old friends and make new ones. I will be bringing the wands with me along with some of the close up cases by Bruno Canaldi. See you there All the Best Marty |
