Anyone have this? A friend of mine told me about his. He needed a vest for childrens parties and balloon work in fairs and restaraunts. He says it's super light and has dozens of pockets. He doesn't use them all, but he can slip in gaff cards, coins, shells, mouth coils, business cards and balloons.
He got it from Bob Solari and I don't see it elsewhere. http://www.gmrcreations.com/bob/52-150.htm#performersvest You can e-mail Bob on with questions on sizes and about ordering at: zombielove@optonline.net I'be ordered from Bob and he's super nice. ________________________________________ PERFORMER'S VEST Ideal for street magic, walk around, balloons. The Performer's Vest has over 72 pockets sewn into the jacket! It is the largest and most amazing pocket management system that we have seen. You can steal or store many decks of cards, coins, thumb tips, thread, business cards, silks, thimbles, rope, doves, frogs, mice, Fantasio Candles, Appearing Canes, etc. The list goes on and on. The vest is a soft felt-like material with a black satin finish on the inside. We dare you to use every pocket

I wouldn't use all 72. But it has lotsa possibilities. It might be easy to ditch and steal items.

A friend of mine had that vest. It took him a half hour to find his car keys.

Looks good but what color(s) does it come in? Also, for 120 bucks I'd like it to be real wool not "a soft felt-like material" whatever that is.

Where can you get vests that are brightly colored with baloons, smiley faces, rainbows, or other bright colors? It does not need to have lots of pockets-- something that can be used by kids entertainers, ventriloquists?
Thanks! |

Chris, I have this vest. I find it very useful, but I wish at times it would be made of something other than black felt. The sleeve holes are cut fairly tight and the material doesn't breath very well, so I don't like to wear it on hot days outside.....this limits its usefulness for me.
I think the jacket would be a bit more useful if there were some larger pockets in it. There are a large number of pockets but none can really hold a jumbo size playing card. Also, the inner pockets are cut at angles. This allows for great steals, but it also makes it easier for things to fall out of the vest if you decide to take it off. If anyone knows of a place that makes colorful vests, with some pockets that is suitable, I would be interested.
Sleightly yours,

I don't need that many pockets... how about a source for colorful vests with a few pockets that would be appropriate for folks who perform for children? Any suggestions?

I've found Solari's Performer's Vest (http://www.gmrcreations.com/bob/52-150.htm#performersvest) to be very, very useful in walkaround. I like to carry about 4-5 decks (no problem, and none are visible). I can also carry all my coins, index packet effects, carry my QB 2, Himber wallet, packet of business cards, Reflections book test, and still have room for tons of stuff. AND... there are no noticeable "bulges"... (I never thought I'd be happy to say that!) Highly recommended.

I think I bought mine from Bob James' Magic Shop years ago. First one started to seperate at the shoulder seams, and then Bob replaced it free. Customer service.

I would probably never be able to use all those pockets (72 in total!) but it definitely opened up some much better pocket management ideas for me and allowed me to separate everything out as needed (ie. my playing cards, coins, packet tricks, markers, etc.) I've actually never seen anything quite like this before....pockets are everywhere (inside and out) and yet they blend in and aren't noticeable(particularly on the outside of course). I just sent Bob my height/weight and he hooked me up. |
