I realize that illusions such as Zig-Zag, Modern Art, and Mini Kub Zag are similar enough that they probably shouldn't be used in the same show, but what about combinations such as MKZ and Mark Parker's Revolution? Since I have never seen Revolution performed, I have no feel for the actual effect.
Speaking of similar illusions, would it be more acceptable to use two of the first three mentioned above in the same show, if they were separated by several other illusions and intermission?

If you're going to do Zig Zag in the show .. you shouldn't do Modern Art. How many ways can you cut a girl into pieces? Not that long ago I went to see a show billed as the Worlds Largest Magic show. Sure it was a great show .. but it did become quite repetitive. Again .. how many different ways can you make a girl float??
A well crafted show is vital in a big production. There are plenty of illusions out there to make a show flow better. I have a formula that we use in our show and add other effects and illusions around the basic show. It works for me .. Steve |

I am just wondering whether these illusion combinations - Zig Zag/Kub Zag, Modern Art/Kub Zag, Kub Zag/Revolution - would be considered too similar to be included in the same show.

Depends on your presentation.

I guess it depends on how long is your show

The only combination which I think would not look too similar are the Kub Zag and Revolution.

I wouldn't. there are so many different other effects you can do. seeing two sawings gets kind of boring to be honest. Just do a production, zigzag, levitation, and then close with a metamorphosis. I'm just saying mix it up. but def. can do modern art in a different show.
