I support Marshall on this one. We are offering more details and tips from our own experiences in building illusions. We have purchased blueprints before but there is more to it than having those blue prints if we want to build a workable illusion.

Guys I really value guided opinion & guidance for newbies. As well as appropriate feedback when asked for it. that's not what I'm really referring to. I see quite a bit of question's asked with very specific intent, where other user's feel like ranting about something that has no real basis for the original question. In this case we have a clear question:
"Where is the best place on the web to find big stage illusion blue prints?" He is not claiming to BE an experienced builder. He's not asking your opinion on the matter. He is however. Very clearly asking for THE BEST PLACE TO FIND BLUEPRINTS ON THE WEB. He is NOT asking. What is your opinion on me looking for blueprints. Not. what is your opinion and comments about an inexperienced builder. If you really wish to be helpful answer the question and stick to the post. If he gets into fabrication: THEN we'd really not have an issue rant all ya want. Again the moderator's don't seem to be doing anything about off topic ... I feel I've clearly made my point. Will be bowing out at this juncture. Good luck with the links magicmatt229, if you need advice on fabrication & building , from the comments here. you know where to find em . . ~R |

You have a point here, Ryan. Though we like to offer help to newbies we can also get carried away with off topic posts. Thanks and I will also bear that in mind.

Just sayin'
Blueprints are blueprints. They don't come with instructions. I don't see the problem with extra cautious advice. I also don't see the problem with playing the devil's advocate either.

The Great Illusions of Magic by Byron G. Wels, 2 book series. One with blue prints and one with the presentations. I also have Paul's black book which has a ton of plans.
** A side note: The extra information is great (at least I usually find it to be of value), but sometimes the whole topic gets switched and the posters original question never gets answered.

I find the crowd at the Café very helpful towards the newbies and the wannabies. In fact more info has been offered and that is great too. I for one offer a lot too. Actually it is the attitude and motive from which it is offered.
I salute to all over here for doing a great job - magicians helping magicians. |
