Can I set up blacks and red cards in a stripper deck, let the spec shuffle it to the fullest (without disturbing the strippper-set up) and then seperate the whole black block from the red for out of this world. I had that idea yesterday, and if this would work it would be the solution to my OOTW-set uo problem.

If you know how a stripper deck works when why ask the question?

I do not know exactly how it works and never had one.
I need to know if it works without problems. |

The problem here is that after they shuffle you will have to somehow seperate the Rs & Bs. Usually by cuts. That fact pretty much nullifies their shuffle.
IMO, better would be for you to shuffle, show the mixed cards and do a couple of cuts to seperate Rs & Bs then go into the routine. |

If the setup is the sticking point, I'd suggest taking a look at Harry Lorayne's "Impromptu Out of This World" in "My Favorite Card Tricks"
I think introducing a mechanical method into what is essentially a self-working trick is going in the wrong direction. The elegance of OOTW is due, in great part, to its simplicity and the fact that it's done with an ordinary deck.
Woke up.

Hallo Jan,
You will find a handling of Stripper OOTW in the German magic magazine ZAUBERKUBST No.4 /2006; p.80. You can get the magazine By Dirk Porn, Materniweg 5, 01324 Dresden. .., And another idea, as I already told, is to use U.F.Grants version, in which spectators shuffle the deck. |

I agree with Don recomnedation above, Lorayne's impromptu OOTW is very good and diminishes all the attention on having a pre-arrange deck. The book is inexpensive (less than $10) and have some other nice things on it.

My friend, buy a stripper deck for $10.00 and experiment. That's half the fun of working on your own routines and methods.
ONE answer to your question as you asked it would be "yes, this can be done with some audience management on your part". But BUY A DECK and work out your own answer for maximum satisfaction! |

Hugard devotes an entire section to the "Stripper Deck" in one of his books (can't remember the title). Follow the advice given above: purchase a stripper deck, read the instructions and practice. This approach will probably address any questions you might have.

In my experience, OOTW with Stripper Deck is far better than methods with a normal deck.
'Red & Black' with Stripper Deck is also very good as stripping out halves looks very natural in offering halves to two spectators. Hideo Kato P.S. I prefer not to let spectator shuffle the deck as it need your splitting after receiving the deck. Audience might think "The spectator shuffled the deck, but magician did something after receiving it". I show mixed deck and give one more shuffle (Zarrow). Stripping action is covered as a part of Zarrow Shuffle. |
