G'day guys.
I am looking at buying a new lapel/headset wireless mic. This time I would like to buy a good quality one. I have 1000 to spend, what is the best mike (clear voice) wireless for me to use? I am a Comedy Juggler if that helps a decision. for indoors work mainly, Cheers, James

DPA 4088 is supposed to be among the best.
It is a hyper-cardioid and I do not know whether that means there might be issues with where exactly it is on your face. If you're juggling and it moves slightly, does that mean nobody will hear you until it is put back in the exact correct spot? you might check out http://www.providerseries.com I just bought one of these so I'm taking a bit of a risk here but I hear good things. it comes with a 30-day moneyback guarentee so I am willing to give it a shot. the countryman e6 seems to be an industry favorite.

There is a lot of discussion in this section on wireless, and the DPA seem to top them all for reliability and durability.
As Frank said, the Countryman E6 is a favorite.

Hi, James!
What mic are you using now? What do you like about it? What problem(s) have you had with it? Is the $1000 for the mic only, or for the mic AND the wireless system? Dan.

Heya.
Cheers again. current was a headset but I would like a lapel mike now, (if it comes with both like some do then that's cool though!) I used my current mike back when I street performed and it was fine, but really unclear in amplifying my voice. now this mic is broken and I need to spend money well on a good one. I have heard good about shure and senheiiser but nothing acout DPA Cheers, James

James,
It's important to know that the wireless components and the mic are two separate entities, and most lavs or headsets can be wired to work with most wireless beltpack transmitters. Shure & Sennheiser both make some excellent wireless components, and some excellent mics. DPA makes mics only, and theirs can be wired to work with Shure & Sennehsier wireless. Selection of a mic is best done by looking at what you do, how loud you speak, where your speakers are placed, whether or not you use background music, whether or not you need to be heard over the crowd's laughter, and more. In my opinion, if anyone's playing a variety of environments (therefore with unpredictable PA quality, PA set-up, and PA operation), then feedback will almost certainly be an issue at some point unless you use a full-size headset. If you are okay with feedback during some of your shows, consider everything. If, however, your situations are unpredictable, and feedback is NEVER okay with you, consider only a full-size headset. A full-size is more visible, but is INFINITELY better at getting loud-enough without feedback that any lav or earset. A Shure Beta-54 is one excellent choice in a full-size, smaller-than-most, good-sounding headset. Once you've decided on a mic, you can see what's left in your budget for the wireless transmitter & receiver. Regards, Dan "Crusading-Against-Feedback" McLean jr

I wouldn't get the countryman e6 if you are a juggler. Get a full size headset.

I agree with John. I have a DPA 4066 with a Countryman E6 as a backup. The DPA headset is much more stable.

Honestly I hear a lot about DPA and E6, personally I own an E6, but I agree with those here that a headset would probably better suit your needs as a juggler.
Also, I've found that quality of mic aside, quality of soundman goes a long way as well. My sound technician is awesome at his job. I've heard him make cheap equipment sound awesome and I've been in other places without him and had my quality mic sound like trash because of a poor soundman.

I'd recommend a headset mike as opposed to the E6 if you're a juggler. For doing magic my E6 works fine, but if I were any more animated I'd want something that seats more firmly.
