Asked for a review of this one in another section of the forum and recieved absoutely no response so I thought that this maybe a better place to ask.
Anyone have this? Reviews? Thanks Kid.

Hi,
It's a great book. I would highly recommend it. There was certainly a space in the market for a book like this and I feel that the space was filled, more than adequately, with this publication. You might not agree with everything in it and it may well cover some things you already know but I think you'd be hard pushed to find someone who wouldn't learn something from it. I'll re read it soon and post a more extensive review. George |

Ditto to George.
I bought and read Julian's book almost two years ago now. I did find some very good and helpful ideas inside. You can't go wrong with this. Some of the techniques seem simplistic -- and I believe Julian will allude to this -- but they work. The goal of the book is to learn some real-world methods to gain the control needed to get through a show. He does a wonderful job with delivering on that.

Just pitching in a thought here - learning ways to "control" a kid audience is incomplete unless you know what you want to DO with the control you achieve.
Asking them to all sit quietly while you pull another card out of your nose (and another and another and a few silks and a pool ball) and applaud respectfully while you bow ... ain't gonna happen. But if you channel the inevitable excitement and use it to supercharge your interaction with them, you've got gold. |

Ross, you're right. And that is what Kid Control can help with. In my earlier post I mentioned "getting through" a show. That's not actually what I meant-- though sometimes that is the truth. More accurately stated, Julian's book shows you some great tools that can be used to keep the show on track by channeling the kid's behavior in a positive direction.

I had lunch with Julian yesterday and also saw his show for the 2nd time. His control techniques do work and shine through during his presentation.
The book is great and I highly recommend it! |

I thought it was a pretty good book, but I'm biased.
You can read some of the reviews of kid show legends like Trixie Bond and David Ginn, as well as excerpts of the reviews of all the major magic magazines at www.JulianFranklin.com/kidcontrol.htm |

Just throwing my two cents in...
I've had Kid Control sitting on my shelf for about 4 months now, and I finally pulled it off and gave it a read over this past week. A GREAT book! I put the techniques and the insight into action today at a birthday party, and I was very impressed with the results. Do yourself an enormous favor and read it as soon as you can. -Andy |
