Hi, would anyone care to share their thoughts on their favorite silent trick that they do and to what music.
Thanks

I would be interested in others thoughts on this also.

I'm also interested in the responses. I'm guessing that The Thing will be rated very highly. I just watched Bill Abbott's DVD and I can't wait to try this effect.

I like Bowlarama or the Floating Table both of which can be done silently. For the former I use Baby Elephant's Walk and for the latter I use an Enya track the title of which escapes me at the moment.
I'm just in the process of adding The Lean by Doug Malloy. Does anyone have any thoughts on what music they might use for this? Smartini |

Bill Abbott's "The Thing" is a good one.

The music and effect (including the fun lean) would depend on your venue, character and then on the show. Also for the lean it would depend on what motivated the lean.(if you go in for motivation..picking up your hat..for me it might be a harmonica and the music, the Bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuues.
I do coin work to music and or mouth noises.(which really isn't technically silent). Harris

Great idea magicgeorge!
Who markets the blank CD. Is it expensive?

Don't believe anything George says. Once George told me that he thought the costume is your most important prop. Then he told me that he can put his jacket on a mike stand and get 45 minutes of laughter. With that blank CD he is a real minimalist, George is strange.

I make the blank CD's myself, they're genuine recordings of audience reactions to my gags...

I once did the Anderson Newspaper Tear silently. Not on purpose I might add. The sound system went out and I knew I couldn't project my voice adequately to the crowd.
It was my first and last attempt at mime. I read through the pages, shook my head and grimmaced (I usually say "Nothing but bad news in here"). Then I tore it up. (At that point I normally say "Oh, oh, I forgot...This isn't my newspaper" and restore it). I did the restore as if I were throwing away the pieces and was surprised to find them back together. Fortunately the sound was fixed by then or I'd have jumped to a silent linking ring routine which is normally done to music. Adapt and overcome as the Marine's say. I thought about keeping the routine that way, but I've been doing it too long and I guess I'm too old to change. Al...You mean magicgeorge wasn't serious??? I've taken all 1380 of his posts to heart as gospel truth!!!
