That looks really cool. But you will need a lot of work to set that up. I'm still not sure what type of gas they are working with. Helium?
imagine the possibilities... endless...

It would have to be a gas that's heavier than air.
I would guess something like argon, CO2, CFC's would work but that isn't what he was using I would imagine CO2 because it is easier and cheaper to get.

Laymen often come up with some pretty wild ideas about how an illusion is accomplished.....this would fit right in with one of their ideas.

It is actually sulfur hexafluoride, from what I can tell from vid.
Co2 is what is in the air normally and what we breathe out, it isn't dense enough to support a tin boat. |

I just saw this on Youtube, too. Sulfur hexafluoride will now be on sale at your local magic dealer...s/h will be a b*tch... Be wary of where you purchase your 150 lb. tanks...M*g*c M*k*rs will sell Sulfur quatrofluoride, a cheaper version that won't work. Then you may see another internet site come out with a 3 DVD set called "A Guerilla Guide to Sulfur Hexafluoride."
But seriously though, that's some crazy stuff right there...if the chemical is actually cheap and harmless, then perhaps it could become something we could use??? :) Kaylan |

I know somewhat of bottles (Being a nearly accomplished welder). Anywhoo. water isn't dense enough to hold up solid steel, yet it will. I haven't tried CO2, but an aluminum foil "boat" isn't inconceivable.
