The Getting Ready, Stuff You Need to Know for KIDabra Conference 2007

That's right! It's time! The excitement is high! We wanted to touch base with you before you head out for KIDabra Conference 2007!

We will be accepting walk-in Registrations at the conference.

Optional Marketing Sessions begin Tuesday night August 14th 7:00 PM. There are still a few seats available at the door if you decide you'd like to attend these educational seminars. Info at kidabra.org, click on Marketing.

If you're there on Monday or Tuesday, Terry Evanswood's show is a must see. Show your KIDabra membership card and tell them your with KIDabra for half price admission. (11.00 including tax)
Monday Show time at 8:15 PM and Tuesday at 3:00 PM and 8:15PM. The theater is within a mile of the Music Road. Info at pigeonforgemagic.com

The Audio CD Sets are available only for pre-order and purchase at KIDabra. None sold afterwards!
Info at kidabra.org click on Audio CDs. For folks there in person, you'll take the completed album home with you Saturday night. Invisible registrants, please allow 2 to 3 weeks after the conference for receipt.

Wed. Night Auction - Do you have your auction items ready? Kid show and family oriented props, tricks, books, original videos, etc. Registrants may buy and/or sell. If selling you may bring up to 8 items. Sellers pay 15% of sales to KIDabra. Same format as last year, selling in lots and collecting the money as we go. CASH ONLY! No Checks or Credit Cards accepted during the auction. No exceptions! There are ATM machines within walking distance of the conference center. The Vendors Room will open Thursday Morning August 16th at 9:00 AM

Photo Shoots – Joining us again this year in the vendors room is Rob Erdmann.
Rob is a performer and professional photographer from the Chicago Area. You will definitely want to plan to bring your costume/props to take advantage of this opportunity. Mike Garner, The Rabbit Guy will be with us on Saturday at the conference with his Netherlands Dwarf bunnies for sale. He'll have some red eyed whites, blue eyed whites, Dutch mark and Himalayan Netherlands Dwarfs. Bring your pet carriers with you. Contact Mike about your needs at megg43@aol.com.

Food: If you're staying at the Hotel or Inn there is an excellent free breakfast each morning. The conference center makes luncheon items, snacks and drinks available each day for purchase. There is a Ruby Tuesdays within walking distance and a Cracker Barrel and Giant Buffet Restaurant across the street and about anything you can imagine within a mile, up and down the strip in either direction.

Dress - We are very informal and casual at KIDabra. It's summer and warm in the mountains, so dress comfortably. The meeting rooms can occasionally get chilly, so do bring a sweater or jacket, especially if you tend to get cold. Some folks like to spiff up a bit for the Saturday Night Gala.

Contacting us – If you should need to contact us, you can reach us at the Music Road Hotel beginning Monday, August 13th, early evening. Our office phone is 336-492-7870, which we will be checking.

Travel – Flying in to Pigeon Forge the area is served by the McGee-Tyson Airport in Knoxville. The Official Shuttle of KIDabra is Rocky Top Tours providing round trip travel for KIDabra folks from the airport to hotel and back for only $30.00, each way, within their pick-up times. Call for reservations at 877-315-8687 or rockytoptours@bellsouth.net. You really do not need a car upon arrival as there is easy access by walking or trolley to everything for an inexpensive fee.

If driving in, I-40, I-81 and I-75 all converge close to Pigeon Forge, then your GPS or an Internet travel map will easily direct you in. For GPS and MapQuest the actual street address is 303 Henderson Chapel Road, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863

At the Convention – We will be accepting walk-in registrations if you have friends or family who decide they would like to attend events upon arrival. Your family is invited to attend the Auction on Wednesday night at no charge, however they must be registered for the convention to buy or sell. For friends and family: Tickets will be available for the evening show on Saturday. Tickets prices – Adults $12.00, Children 4-12 $5.00, Children under 3 are admitted free. Tickets may be purchased just prior to the shows. (Evening show tickets do not include entrance to the dealer's room.) Your badge is your ticket.

Admittance to the dealers room, seminars and shows will be by your name badge. Please wear it at all times so you will be allowed entrance to each event. The Music Road Conference Center is a smoke free facility.

Videotaping and audiotaping are prohibited at lectures and shows. We may be videotaping bits and pieces of the convention for our archives. Other than the Terry Herbert Interview and Friday Night Library Sessions, no other videotaping or audiotaping will be allowed unless performers are taping themselves. Still and digital still camera shots are welcome.

And the winner is – Once again, we will have our ever popular drawing with lots of great prizes, be sure to get your tickets.
