Writing device... What in your opinion is the BEST way to secretly write on an item such as an envelope? Boon, nail writer, thumbtip writer etc, and who makes the best?

I think the first answer is whatever matches the line and texture of the most natural writing instrument for the performance context. The second answer is without doubt Lincoln's covert writers in boons and PW pencils. For NW I would say it is more a personal preference. I like the old s***i gimmick.

Personally, I like the Vernet thumb writer, but agree that Lincoln's are best if you are a boon guy...

The features of the Lincoln are great, such as the self-feeding lead! Jeff

As always there is no BEST of anything. There are only personal favorites. My choices are Lincoln's boon, or a TT writer depending on the situation and the effect. For PW my choice is the Zip pen. You can determine your favorite by trying them all. Might sound like a cost problem but I assure you that no matter how many items you own you will find a time and a place for each

I notice you guys are talking about PW a lot, what about out in the open, say for a chair prediction with writing the numbers on as they are called out...

Just wanted to add "the Scribe". It's my favourite device for PW.

Sometimes you can write it out in the open as Banchek does on one of his DVD's or another great ploy is double writing. It all depends on conditions and circustances as to which technique is the best. Done properly they're all great under the right circumstances.

See Andy Nyman's double writing technique (found in "Get Nyman" DVD set and one of the lecture notes, I can't remember which at the moment). It beats them all! You'll laugh at the simple brilliance.

I use to swear by the super sharpie, but it does not work for predictions. :-(
So I use the standard c clip and love it. I remember reading some where on here that you can anchor it using wax. I love this method! PM me for the reference.
