I'm trying to work an effect that will make people shudder and ask "Why would he do that?"
I don't need to fool them, just make them cringe and wonder, even for just a moment. Like Block Head is actually perfect, but I'd rather not actually put a nail in my nose, though if someone told me it was worthwhile and taught me, I imagine I'd do it. Snorting a cigarette, needle thru arm, arm chopper, eating fire, poking your finger through your ear and into your cheek, pencil thru cheek, straw thru lip. Eating bugs, popping out an eye ball and juggling it, cutting off my tongue, downing a bottle of vinegar, etc. Even the classic kids magic book trick in which a finger is apparently mutilated, using a c****t. I'm just looking for a blowoff, really, and haven't quite come up with the right one for me. Got any favorites? |

I swear, later in the day after I read this, I go to a pizza parlor and the guy behind the counter takes a wood skewer and sticks it through his tongue. He had a pierced tongue. Or, it is now, at least. Anyway, I'm just looking for an effect to blow off some steam. Mr. Biro: your suggestion got me thinking and searching, which led me to a gimmicked pen up the nose, which is exactly wha tI was looking for. |

I enjoy the old 'Indian Bean Mystery', the old in the eyes/nose and out the mouth. It's found in most beginner magic books, and on the Geek Magic dvd, completely safe, and makes people cringe.
