In my show I juggle a whiskey bottle, among other things. I was wondering if there is any substance I can put on the bottle so that if I drop it, it won't break, or at least be a bit tougher to break?
The bottle is a Jack Daniels whiskey bottle and is empty when I juggle it. Thanks! Josh London |

Could coat the outside or inside with clear epoxy.
Just a thought. Cheers!

The clear epoxy will make it almost "shatter-proof?"

Be a good bet! You'll have to rough up the outside of the bottle with sandpaper or emery cloth first, in order for the epoxy to accquire a good purchase to the glass.

I'd line the inside of the bottle instead. Experiment first with a product that will stick to glass and then poor it inside and rotate the bottle until it hardens. Ask a glass dealer what will stick to glass and is relatively clear.

The only reason I suggested treating the outside of the bottle, as opposed to the inside, is that if the bottle were dropped there would be less possibility of glass chips flying into the audience, as would be the case if using only the inside of bottle treatment. Heck, do both!
FWIW Cheers!

Thanks guys!
I'll try finding a glass maker. In the meantime I'll coat the inside and outside with the epoxy. Josh |

Here is a better idea if you still read my posts LOL.
Check out "Flair Bartending" on the net. They sell bottles that are basically what it is you want. You may be able to label them. There are LOTS of places which sell stuff like that. The other solution is not to drop it LOL. Flair bartending may not be spelled right, and it is not the name of a specific place, but is the activity and will help you a lot.

The Skyy Vodka bottle is great! Also, if you get a white standard bottle you can put a Malibu label on it and it'll look just like the real thing.
The other option is rather than try to fix a glass bottle to not break is to get yourself some rubber matting that you can place on the floor. So in the event you do drop it'll hit the rubber. Its what you'll find behind any flair bar. Of course, you could always go with Danny's suggestion and just not drop it in the first place

Depending upon how far away from the audience you are when you juggle you could cover the outside of the bottle with strips of clear transparent tape - not the scotch "magic" variety and it would hold the pieces together if it were to break. If you did it carefully and thoughtfully it might not mess up the appearance too bad.
