When I was coming up with my new act, I thought it would be cool to do a "Card in Balloon GONE WRONG" type of thing. Do the basic routine, palm the card off the deck as you pick up the balloon. Pull out a knife and stab the balloon to pop it to reveal the card....however, it goes wrong. When you stab the balloon you accidently stab the knife thru your hand and it impales the card to your palm.
The knife can be seen going thru the back of your hand. Pull out the knife and the wound heals or something like that and hand your spectator their bloody card as a keepsake. Anyone got a method on something like this????

I'm having a bit of a mind-fart, but I want to say Fielding West does this in a card stab routine. Check out his video, I won't give it away. His DVD set is full of wonderful bits of business, ideas, and magic.

Tony,
I looked at its contents, and it wasn't listed. Is this the right one? http://www.elmwoodmagic.com/full/Magic-T......2214.htm |

Penn and Teller used to do a blindfold card stab thru hand too.
"What's your drug?" she asked. "Hope" he said, "The most addicting one of all."

Didn't Blaine do an ungimmicked one?? C4 in the UK showed an early Street Magic special where he apparently nicked his own hand with the stab.
(or was I duped!)

On a slightly different twist, Andrew Mayne has a card revelation in one of his books (can't remember which one; maybe Mad Mojo)where the magish either severes his own or the spec's hand that holds the chosen card.
But I like your concept better. Marqus |
