I searched local craft stores and the internet and am trying to find a source for cardboard boxes to make a set of nesting boxes. I wanted something simple (and inexpensive) because I think the children I work with will be less suspicious of a cardboard box rather than shining metal boxes. Also I am cheap too. Does anyone know a source for these boxes?

You might try some of the Dollar Stores.

If you can hold until around Christmas time, there are usually "tower" gift sets sold in stores like Wal Mart. They are usually several nesting boxes in a stack, each with some cookies or something inside. Not sure of the craft stores you have searched, but I have found boxes at Michael's and Hobby Lobby. Don't overlook the paper mache or wooden boxes, too. Big Lots may be another source.
It may be that you will have to get clever and find boxes from different sources that just happen to nest. They won't match, but they shouldn't have to.

Piggybacking on what Michael said, places like Harry and David sell lots of different type of gift packages that are packed in graduated-size, matching boxes that will stack or nest once all the "goodies" are gone. Drop some hints around Christmastime, and you might get lucky...

If you have a Micheal's craft store around the have a good selections of boxes that nest together. The also have some craft ones that are already packaged with 3 boxes with latches on top of each box for about $10.
Hope this helps Chris |

I get mine from the Dollar Store, but for those who don't have a Dollar Store in their local areas, I make them available on my Web Site in the Magic Supply section. Because of postage costs, the price jumps from $1 + tax to $10 because I have to also pay packing charges and pay the kid who runs to the Dollar Store for me, etc. That's life. But if you want them, check them out on my site. You'll also find a link to them from the article that they were intended for in The Wizards' Journal #11, "Ring into Nested Boxes." You don't even have to wait until Christmas.
Recently, Evangelion posted this link to a set of FIVE nesting boxes, which, together with postage, end up costing about $20. However, you might like the designs which are decorator style. http://www.cndcountrygifts.com/PAP-061.html Keep in mind that ypu can always paint over a cardboard box and not feel too guilty about doing so. You can also get blank boxes in different shapes from Oriental Trading at this link: http://www.orientaltrading.com/applicati......&y=9
