My wife used to try that 'counting beer cans' thing. Now I make it an effort to drink so much that she is unable to count them all (As a woman, anything over a hundred a night does it).
Magic is doing improbable things with odd items that, under normal circumstances, would be unnessecary and quite often undesirable.
