I think what Bill is trying to say, in his discreet and sensitive way, is that you may be in the wrong thread. The thread for the rich boys is called "Grand Illusions" and they think nothing of spending a couple of grand on an illusion. Here in the bizarre section, we generally tend to be of more modest means, and some of us are downright stingy penny-pinchers (I speak only for myself, of course).

A single blinding flash from a strobe light and a loud sound effect to mask your exit should do the trick.

If done correctly Peppers ghost does not have to cost a lot of money! I am by far no rich kid...I made a simple peppers ghost for my window last halloween which got a good reaction. It looked like a ghost appeared inside my apartment and flew across the room.
Just a thought

Magic Man Jim, just the large pane of gl*ss to do a doorway would be too much for me right now. If Rolls Royce cost ten cents a carload, I couldn't buy a used Yugo hubcap.

A simple wooden frame, covered with shrink wrap, and shrunk with a hi heat hair dryer can work almost as good as a $$ glass pane for a peppers--

My mistake, Jim! You're in the right thread after all. My original post suggested a plastic wrap Pepper's Ghost, so I got confused when it came up again without mention of the plastic wrap part.

Ah, plastic wrap! Apparently I missed that! Now that makes a lot of sense. Spellbinder and Balaram, thanks for that idea.
