Okay, I was going through old tricks to make a "junk box" for sam/ibm 2008 and I found a trick I looked over long ago. It's called brain sell by aldo columbini and peter duffie. I reread the instrutions and tried it out....WOW is all I can say which is more than what my spectators said because they were speechless. Here's the link.. http://www.hanklee.org/xcart/product.php?productid=1087 . I just wanted to post this to tell people don't judge your tricks until you try them rightfully with the practice they deserve. I have encountered this situation on more than one time where a budding magician boasts about a trick and I tell them I don't like it and a minute or two later I am fried by it. I guess all I am saying besides "brain sell" is amazing, is practice THEN amaze. I hope no one else makes the mistake I did.

I think that we all overlook tricks at one point or another. The trick I overlooked was Kolossal Killer. I was always thinking that the spectators wouldn't really be amazed and that they would guess how the trick was done.
I finally decided to try it out, and the "off by one" really gets killer reactions. |

It is an amazing trick and there is no r/s or short/long cards....if your decks ever become too worn(which every deck does) a matter of 15-20 minutes (if you have the supplies) will get the job done. I am obsessed with the trick now.lol.

Jbk2006,
If you like "Brain Sell" you should check out Peter Duffie's "Vanished or Gone." Vaguely similar but takes the idea many steps forward. |

Interesting, the Hank Lee ad for 'Brain Sell' states: "Complete with routines and the two special decks in Bicycle Poker size. No need to sell your brain to buy this one."
Aldo's ad for Brain Sell says: " It’s always ready and comes with a special blue backed deck ~ use any red backed deck". Peter's "Vanished or Gone" which was marketed was also in his book "Effortless Card Magic" and whilst the hard cover book is out of print, I believe Peter now sells it as an e-book. Great book. The current version of Brain Sell only comes with one deck (as per Aldo's current ad). The second deck addition is a reasonable and inexpensive addition, and probably contributes to the recent price reduction on all of Aldo's marketed items available via his web site. I have this, as well as Duffie's effect (from the original "Effortless..." book). Both are terrific, but I still prefer Duffie's.
