I know that I will get attacked for asking this question but, I have really gotten into the Vent gig. I love Jeff Dunham and was completly WOWED by Americas Got Talent winner Terry Fator. Magic is my main gig, and always will be. But I would like to learn a bit and get into this part as well. How can I learn I guess the basics. I don't want to become some great Vent but I would love to throw my voice a bit during my magic. Kinda like Wayne Dobson use to do. I have a fiew ideas. Can any one enlighten me? And by no way did I mean to say that Venting was easy. Sorry if that came across like that.

This is the quickest way.

1. Try to make a voice, which is different from yours. Please don't use your high pitch voice, it is not comfortable for your audience ears. Try to find another one, use animation film character as your inspiration.

2. Make a script/line for the new voice, but without letter b, f, m, p, v & w. Single word like "yes" or "no" are okay too.

3. Open your lips a little bit, when you say the script/line/word with your new voice. Don't move your lips and jaw, but keep your face relax or just smile a little. Please don't make a big grin or pain looking. Try it in front of mirror.

4. If you can do it flawless, and you can change your voice back and fort, you are a half ventriloquist now! Congratulation!

5. The other half is how to manipulating your figure, mouth syncronization, eye contact, etc. You don't need these for now, I think.

If this instruction work for you, I will send my bank account number to you! Smile

But if you want to learn more seriously, learn it from Maher Course (please send my regards to Mr. Clinton Detweiler) and practice, practice, practice!

Wow, Budi, I thought you were serious there for a minute!

Paisa23 - it does take some time and you really do need some sort of course to follow. Many people recommend the Maher course, as you can see.

Best of luck,

Dave
