I recall hearing some rumors a while back about financial problems. I think I heard something about it being sold. What's the current situation there? What does the future hold for the castle?
What is the color of magic?

You are combining two separate events. The Castle was having financial problems and the way it was operated was restructured so that it would be more profitable. That was things like the restaurant being managed by a different party etc.. It seems to have worked out.
The family that owns the land that the Castle is on, which is part of a large holding that includes a lot of property, wanted to see if there was a potential buyer for the property. They said they wanted the Castle and the Japanese restaurant near it to be left alone or continue to exist because of their significance to the area. The problem is that the only ones who can afford that property are developers and California is just waiting for it to sale so they can elevate the property taxes to an ungodly level. Even if they find a buyer and that buyer says they are cool with the Castle existing as it is the newly established property tax would likely be so high that there would be no way for the castle to be able to afford it. |

Well, I've talked with Gay a fair amount about it, and I don't think the tax thing is such an issue, nor will the castle close because of the taxes. The property is already taxed at what the tax authorities believe its real value to be, not at its original sale value. They re-appraise all property periodically. The castle has input into negotiations with any bidders on the property and has looked into the possibility of buying the property it is on, but I doubt that is going to happen, but you never know. Right now it looks very good for the castle to keep on going like the energizer bunny. As for the previous financial problems they have all been resolved and the castle is profitable again and doing great guns business wise.

Glad to hear that the Castle is doing great. Been there a few times and was well worth it.

Doesn't Gay look great? I saw her a couple months ago and it was a pleasure to spend a few minutes with her.
Note: Saying Gay looks great does not imply a sexual desire or anything of that nature. I also say male magicians when they look healthy and happy look great. Please do not inform Gay that the statement was anything other than a passing compliment. Again, I have no desires for Gay or any other woman other than my wife and Cathy Shim....thank you. |
