The talking flute is beautiful! How about a talking wand, with a couple of small "ta da" hands? Or, there could be one hand that creeps out of the end of the wand; add a m****t, and the hand could "steal" something.....of course the magi doesn't notice, and thinks the item has vanished!
I can imagine this being a "wanderful" addition to many routines....and hopefully, it would be a relatively cheap item, I'd like to think it might be $100.... ;) |

Laser Pointers have replaced collapsible 'sticks' for lectures, and kids are used to them. Surely one can be used as a wand with the light spot hitting your hand, cup, whatever to 'do the magic'.

Bigger Wands (and biggest wand)from Creative Magic is one of those props that every magician should have, well ok, every family show magician.
I also like the wand where the tip keeps flying off. Cam |

Secret Wand is good for a 10 second laugh. I made a telescoping wand from a 6 part duster. All I had to do was add white tape to the end.

The most practical wand I own doubles as a needle holder for my needle thru the balloon trick. It is great because it not only holds the needle but prepares it too for the effect. I can also use it as a general wand for other effects.

I , among my silly wands have one I made. (I won't take any credit for it as I don't remember if it's something I thought of or saw) I had one of those el-cheapo hollow plastic wands most dealers sell ($3.95 or so) and I put one end over an open flame for about 30 - 60 seconds or so until it was bent over a bit , twisted a bit and blackend. In other words just one end looks trashed. In use: I pick it up by THAT end so it appears normal in my hand. I hand it to the volunteer and say "be careful with this ,it's very expensive" , as let go of my end ,I turn away for a moment. And he's left holding this yuckie looking wand. It gets a laugh , you can also milk it a bit by asking how he did that? "Were you chewing on it?" Cheap , easy to make , and always gets a laff.

I made a wand based on a "bending a 12 inch spike" trick. Unfortunately, I don't remember who did the spike trick so I can't give him proper credit for it. In the effect it appears as though the magician bends an "unbendable" piece of steel. I have more details at http://sites.google.com/site/hausheersite/special I'll also PM you with more info.

I'm using the plunger idea for sure. Who originally came up with it? It sounds genious.

You guys are missing on one of the most ingenious wands of all time.
One that actually works! Yeah, I'm serious. It's actually a well disguised IR universal remote control, and can operate any device that is operable with an IR remote control: a TV, a high end stereo, CD/DVD player, even LED candles (like those flickering LED candles that look absolutely realistic and have RC control now too). The Kymera wand uses an internal accelerometer to manage 13 different movements/commands. http://www.kymerawand.com/ That's gotta to be the coolest thing I've seen in a long time.
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.
