If it's for vanishing...go to El Duco magic (Sweden) do a Google for 'El Duco' magic.

You might want to buy several of these as backup or stocking stuffers. |

Holey cow that is one precision made reel. Wish I could afford them as stocking stuffers.

I own two "El Duco's" 'Ring Flight's' and used the reel from one them to make a vanisher out of it with a magnet & clip...it's powerful and silent!

I'm with you Papasmurf...a $350.00 stocking stuffer??? The only stocking that will be getting stuffed at that price would be mine. But, if it is truly easily acessible for repair, knowing Todd's workmanship and that he stands behind his stuff, it is probably well worth the price. But, I do think my Christmas generosity will be confined to one home and one stocking.

I tried a lot and most of them either broke quick, are hard to fix, are not silent and/or strong enough plus come with a thread you can see from miles away. The only one I haven't tried is a Kirkendahl which is supposed to be strong and silent but not intended as a vanisher. A good reel should also have a locking mechanism. None except the PM reel have one. I talked to Todd about his precision reel and he might make a device that will hold the end in your hand until you are ready to release it. If you are interested call him. He is very nice and supportive. I came up with a locking mechanism that holds the acessory end in your hand until you are ready to vanish it via a quick release. I will probably patent that idea after I have a prototype made and combine it with Todds Reel. If you are looking for a reel around $100 get the PM (Petrick and Mia). If you want the currently best one that has the thinnest line, is super silent, strong and easy to fix (if it ever breaks) get the Rolls Royce stocking stuffer from Todd Lassen.

Theguy26, please read threads before you post as this seems common....
the omega reel is a thread reel.... not a utility reel. |
