Out of those, I'll still say johnsons or risers. See above to as why. An added note though: The risers will take a tennis ball load, the johnsons will not.

Matt,
the JESMagic squatty cups are "cheaper" RNTII products. As I said I own a set of these cups and have been impressed with their quality and the way they handle. No, they don't take a tennis ball but they will take quite a latge and impressive final load that your audience will remember. In actual fact, if you buy ANY of the cups you have listed you will not go far wrong in my opinion. Tom

One other thing I forgot to mention : the "classic style cups don't have a lip and thus may be a bit of challenge for certain moves that require the cups to be lifted up, etc. But apart from that (and it isn't a consideration for me in terms of the routines I generally use), I find them to be great handling cups.
Actually, I see from RNT II's website that I just checked that the "classic-style" cups are listed at only $89.00. Didn't recall them being that cheap. This makes them even more of a steal! Fortasse |

You might also be influenced by the size of load you use: Risers Standard and Sherwood will take a tennis ball; Penguin and Johnson will take a lacrosse ball; JES Squatty cups are smaller again - they won't take a lacrosse ball (though the redesigned Squatty 2's will). All of the cups you've listed are well made, but with increasing price you generally get increasing quality (weight of copper, finish etc).
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

The RNT Foxy 2.5 has been talked about as being on par with the Johnsons.
The Foxy 2.5s can take a larger load than the Johnson's, and to me the final load looks more deceptive. To me that puts them one up on the Johnson's. Is there some down-side to the Foxy 2.5s that balances this out? I know the Foxy cups are a bit more expensive than the Johnson's that Matt found available at http://www.i-magicnation.com/Cups-Balls-......390.html However, that price on the Johnson's is the cheapest I've seen online! Many sites charge $260, up to $290 for them. |

Yep, I did get the Foxy 2.5's. They haven't arrived, but I'm getting them for Christmas so I can't touch them for over a month! I haven't used either the Johnsons or Foxys, but I heard that a preference for cups really depends on the person. Hopefully I will like my set.

What was it that made you choose the Foxy's over the Johnson's?
Does anyone have an idea of the weight of the Foxy's? I like chunky. |

I got the Foxy's because...
The load size is more deceptive The load size is larger I already have brass Bazar cups, so I don't want more brass cups Also the Johnsons and Bazar cups both take a lacrosse ball, so I wanted a different load size I want different colored balls (the Johnsons and Bazar cups only have red balls and I didn't feel like buying a separate set) Also, "RNT II means quality" |

If anyone is looking at Johnson cups...I believe Hank Lees will discount the cups 25% when they have a 25% off sale if you are an online member. This brings the cost way down. These also are quality cups!
