The effects on the DVD and lecture notes are far beyond your abilities. (They require mastery of the mechanic's grip.) It would only break your heart. Sincerely, Darwin Ortiz.......(This post has got to be in my top 5.) |

This certainly looks like it gives a lot of depth into sponge ball work, but I have always been partial to Jay Sankey's Earplugs. Not because of the sponge earplugs, which are cool if you like that sort of thing, but because it has been one of the best all around sponge ball resources out there on video. Perhaps Noblezada's new dvd will change that. Will have to wait for reviews. The demo looks great though.

Duane Laflin also has a good DVD out called 'Clever Sponge Ball Magic'. They're both quite good.

I have seen good reviews on this on another thread. Those folks got the download.
I will be getting this one.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

I have it. The teaching is very clear and the routines are strong. I particularly like the sponge to pocket routine.

Pat Page's Sponge Ball video is hard to beat. And it's cheap. Something like $13!

All good sources here ( Sankey, Page ). Bill Malone has a killer routine on his Here I Go Again, Volume 2 dvd.
Noblezada's Sponge dvd comes with 4 balls and teaches all the classic moves. But it also has a visit to Gary Darwin's home and he goes through what eh knows about sponges. Gary has an incredible routine, which is stand alone, or can be part of a larger routine. He has a ball in one hand and moves the hand in circles and the ball juts vanishes. It appears in his other hand. Sponge is a good dvd if you never did sponge balls and if you have done them for years, it's worth it for the Darwin section as he passes on tips that you'll use. |

I agree. The Darwin interview alone is worth the price...

I have to agree that this is a great dvd. However, it does seem to be more geared toward beginner, which was great for me. But zombie was right the Darwin interview was awesome and so was his disappearing sponge routine that zombie mentioned.

As a sponge ball novice I have enjoyed this DVD. I am surprised at the amount of harsh criticism this received on another post in this forum. Seems be directed towards Jay as opposed his magic. Makes it very confusing to find out which resources one should start with. I decided to go about and get s few to try myself. I agree with Cameron that Pat's DVD is great aswell.
