Hi guys.
I'm looking for a method (without cards-thank you for asking) to force a specific person on stage from 5 or 6. One method would be the sack with the white/black balls but he will have to be last for that (unless we use a change-bag) I thought on drawing duplication-He will be the one who duplicate my drawing. (I don't have a method for that yet). And please not with numbers and swami (they all must think of a number and he will be the closest.) What do you think? ROi |

Depends how 'clean' you want it to look. In my view, you have for some reason eliminated some pretty viable methods.

This should look extra clean.
What methods are you talking about,David? "Sharing is everything..." |

Sorry, just realised my post probably wasn't very helpful.
I have done this in the past. Come on stage holding an envelope. Don't mention it really, just hold it, people will notice it. When you have your specs on stage - have them stand on marks on the floor - each mark is either a different colour or a different number. Tell them to mix each other around on the different marks. Carry out whatever your other effects are until you need to force the person - during this, casually put the envelope into your pocket and replace it (using the indexing system of your choice) with an envelope containing the colour or number that the force spec is standing on. Nice and simple. Fly's right by anyone. Do it while the hot pocket (yum) is away from the audience. Also - if you wish, you can have carpet tiles or sealed envelopes on the floor. That way, you don't really need to mix the people up, since no one knows which one they are standing on. But you know the order, and can carry out as stated before. Best, David. |

The marks on the floor also help manage that number of people on the stage - stops the stage looking messy.

Very nice!!
I once read something liek taht in Aldo COlombini's Linking RIngs. What about something faster? (Derren used a black/white balls in his "Something wicked" and he used it in a very smart way) MAybe math-the audience must get the feeling that this spectator is chosen in the most fair way. |

How about throwing a bowl full of crumpled up papers into the audience, one with an "x" on.
You might say reality is the result of complex negotiations between the observer and the observed. But that is simply a point of view.
Many Thanks Garrad |

And how can I assure he will pick the X?

By tossing out 7 balls and then (surprise) 8 spec's stand
when you ask for everyone that caught a ball to stand. Comprendo? Cheers, Tom |

Im looking for a method (without cards-thank you for asking) to force a specific person on stage from 5 or 6. Why not just bring her/him on stage after just pointing at them and forgo the magicians guilt of random boredom and do one effect with them on stage (Book test, magic square, etc) and then break into the real reason you brought them on stage... Remember the K.I.S.S. principle... The use of tossing crap into the audience is uncalled for in my opinion and looks to me like you are running when nobody is chasing you... Keep It Simple, stupid(KISS)... |

I thought the original idea of getting them to think of a 2 digit number and the one person closest to his number is the one selected (NW) was a good idea.
do it with a w*****W e******E and its even better, or even try PW

Looch has said, more explicitly, what I had inferred in my initial reply. It's very strong and reliable. Perfect for stage.

For me, the thing that works better, is to ask to all the people to choose a color. The one that you want to force, you choose. It's stupid, really stupid, but it work. I'll pick you 'cause you choose the Red. No one knows who will you choose, and why; but it seems logical and fairy.

Roi, my favorite way to force spectators in the ghetto is by telling them if they pick "this" choice, they will get $100.00. It never fails.
