Can anybody lead to me a source where I can obtain some coin envelopes. They need to be just big enough to easily fit a playing card it. (not 6 x 9 or any huge size) I prefer it to be just a little bigger than a playing card for ease of insertion (not sticking) but not so much bigger that the card could turn at an extreme angle.

I checked Office Depot and Staples, and while they do carry the right size, they were not opaque, as I could see the ESP symbol through the envelope in the right light.

Thanks!

I had trouble with the Staples/Office store ones too-- so what I did (you might try too, depending on how many you need) was just colored them black (or any other color you may like). It takes a little time (which is I why I thought it may depend on how many you are using at one time in your routine-- I only needed two), but it really works perfectly if you can't find any ready-made ones. Hope that doesn't sound too "ghetto" of a suggestion, haha, but it does work-- take care! Smile

Thanks

Larry Becker may still sale black ones, or try Viking magic.

Here in New Zealand you just cannot buy the correct envelopes that seem to be in every shop thoughout the US. I HAVE to make my own most of the time. I have a couple of special sizes that I had special cutters made up for. This way I can make them of any suitable materials including black or see through. Others sizes are cut by hand. Sharp folds and a glue stick make them look like the bought ones . . if only I could buy them!

Is there anywhere in the U.S. to purchase the "Amazing Hills Envelope"?

An alternative...Cut off the flap, and trim down the body 'slightly' on one side and slide it inside a whole envelope...so you have a double walled envelope.

Rich,

My only concern doing it that way, is that is seems like Im gimmicking an envelope. I actually tried glueing some construction paper to the outside of one, and immediatly my son asked me what I was trying to hide in the envelope! It might appear that Im taking an ordinary envelope and adding something to it to produce or hide a card.

I've had good luck with these:

Usually what I see at Office Depot, etc. is the 20lb paper stock.
Get the 28lb. paper stock and you should be good to go! They're cheap, but you have to order a boatload at a time...

Hey, count me in too. I have yet to find translucent "manilla" envelopes. Most of of the opaque "craft envelope" material. I've been to all sorts of stores as well. What is the name of the translucent envelopes?

Did you look in the pay envelope section of the store?

It seems like you are gimmicking an envelope because you are. However,if you are concerned with a spectator knowing it is gimmicked ...prepared properly it looks like a regular coin envelope, and IMO the most astute spectator will not suspect anything.[Thinking like a performer???] Smile

All you have to do is cut the insert so that when it is slid into the outer envelope there is nothing to see.Use a glue stick at he top edges of the insert and press both sides against the inner walls of the main envelope. It looks and feels like a regular enveolpe, and it is opaque. How do I know?I just made one. Smile
