It has been a while since I have done any Gospel Magic shows, but this sunday night our Church's variety ministry was asked to preform at my home church. the problem is I do not have any new Gospel illusions except for the disobediant heart which I am having trouble developing a solid patter for it. I do have lots of new " Secular" tricks. Since I only have about 5 to 10 minutes to do my act, I decided not to do my dove act, or I could do the dove act and a silk production.
Does anyone have suggestive patter for disobediant heart or should I just do all "Secular" and let the good Lord speak through that?

Is this supposed to be a Gospel Presentation? Perhaps you could just provide some GOOD Magical entertainment and someone else could present the gospel. Remember all Magic Shows content does not have to be 100% Gospel Magic. The shows need structure. I personally only present 2-3 Gospel effects in my
45-minute show the rest of the show is my standard show. Rodney

For most of my presentations, I do a regular routine tying in a Gospel message, or using the effect to illustrate the message...for example when I do the Peanutbutter and Jelly routine, I do it as normally performed, but I end it with the thought how Jesus traded places with us, He took my sin, my shame and He gave us His life and forgiveness.
By doing it that way, you have great entertainment and their attention to end it with a great message tie in. An example of using an effect to illustrate, I do a coffee vase effect with 3 silks and I talk about 3 things God has never seen. For each thing I put a silk in the vase as I talk about them and at the end of the routine produce a very beautiful silk streamer... I have to remember that I have one advantage that many other magicians don't have, I'm a minister so it's a little easier for me to run with an effect. But I hope this helps some... |

Good calls. I'm thinking about doing my regular illusions and if any idea on how to use it to present the Gospel comes up while I'm performing I will do that.
