Does anyone know why I can't track down the wooden Khin cups and balls set anymore? I have gone to many dealers and no one seems to have them anymore. Did something happen? Will they be re-released?

DJ, you can still find them in a few places. I've sent you a PM.

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

The site you mentioned actually does not have them in stock, although the site says they do.

It's hard to say. Khin has these made for him by local workers. They occasionally show up on a certain major auction site. Also check with US Toy Magic in Leawood Kansas or Andy Greget.

There's a set up for sale on that well-known auction site right now.

Those combo cups do not have a very strong gaff. They work well as a regular cup, though.

Check with Bob Little. He had a Khin Chop Cup a few years ago, for sale. Perhaps he stocks them on a regular basis.

I'd forgotten about Bob. That's not a good idea. You should never forget about Bob. I bought a set of Khin minis from him at a convention a couple of years ago. He had boxed them with some accessories.
If you google Bob Little Guaranteed Magic, you will find the web site for his special convention. From there you can get a phone number where you can reach him during the week.

Here is a contact for Khin directly, well actually if you contact the chapter they will give you his contact information, look at the prices on his table from the convention, not bad for asian rosewood.

Jake, thank you so much for that link... I'll be giving him a call and seeing what he has. I found a set at my local shop and was getting them. The guy selling them to me said "the mouths are big enough to even fit a bass cup inside just right". Well he was wrong, it didn't fit and he cracked the cup ha ha ha! So I have been on the hunt ever since. They couldn't re-order them either so that's when I came here.

Khin
is doing some rough turns for us and we'll be doing the finishing here. You'll see a world of difference. But quite frankly, his work is very nice; some of the nicest I've seen from overseas when it comes as is. However one item he needs to put a little more time into is his wands, I have about a dozen that bend due west LOL. If you find the gaff is not strong enough in a gaffed cup, this can be compensated by using a stronger gaff in the ball, say an N42 to N50 grade gaff. Glad I could help. Back to work now. Jake

I have a set of Khins Monte Cups. I like them but there is not much attic room between cups for balls when stacked. There is some rocking when stacked . also being wood , stacking them one way allows more room than stacking them in a different order. Also placing 3 balls on top of one cup (3/4 inch balls) is a little crowded and can cause rocking when stacked.
Jim. Thats me on the left,Everyone should know the other guy!

I noticed all of those things too. I'm not sure if I would really use them or not after playing with a set at a local shop a while back. However, they sure look great! I just like the idea of them and think the looks are really "neat".

Rocking is normal in a lot of cup sets. Gazzos, Risers, RNT II, RNT the list goes on. Not all performers do a 3 ball stack on cups, so while this may be a concern to some it's not with others. The overall quality generally with Khins cups is a 9 out of 10, give or take sometimes.
If you really want to make them look pretty, use some Teak Oil on them to keep the wood conditioned, you'll have a very attractive set of working cups at a very reasonable price.
