I think I like this writer's strike. We get the effort from Gabe that studios would be shelling out big bucks for...FOR FREE!
Seriously though Gabe et al, I hope those greedy you know whats come around and pay you guys and gals what you deserve for new media. And I would like that to happen before Bionic Woman runs out of eps. D. P.S. How would one go about getting a signed 8x10 of Michelle Ryan? |

Thanks, Don Theo, for your support. It's very cool how other unions have come out in solidarity. I just feel bad for the grips, tech guys, etc. who got laid off because of this.
On another thread, I read this: Quote:

In his wonderful book, "Absolute Magic", Derren talks about the importance of seeing the PROCESS of mentalism. On "Phenomenon", we are only seeing results. Derren's explanations, or pseudo-explanations, are what make his show so fascinating (aside from Derren's strong performance style, character, and "X"-factor). Brown has brilliantly found out a way to make mentalism COMPELLING television. When Derren reveals the BMX bike to Simon Pegg, it's really not all that different than Super revealing the motorcycle. What IS different, is Derren's narration leading up to it; building up a "moment", and subequent pseudo-explanation, which is the most interesting of all, even if it's hogwash. THAT is messing with minds. The format of "Phenomenon" makes this kind of presentation impossible; therefore no matter what their choices, we cannot pin this lackluster show on the performers. Ultimately, their hands are tied. |

We were told at the beginning that there could be two more shows if NBC wanted....would the strike affect their decision? I'd like to see Jim do a couple of his Paranormal effects. They are very suited for TV if given a chance.
Seems like the judges have supernatural powers to taint the voting and bring people back...Perhaps they should mend their mistake? Bring Jim back

I, as well, am looking forward to those final pages, Jim! I still maintain that the format of "Phenomenon" is flawed. As you yourself have stated, you had to summon Raymond in a fraction of the time in which you are used to doing it. |
