I'm sure someone is owed credit for this, but I'm just not aware. This is my solution for the final coin for "Hanging Coins" let me know what you think and where credit is due.

I don't know about the crediting, but to me you overemphasized the curl conceal and then the Ramsay. Especially on the curl conceal, it just hung out there way too long.
A brief flash will be enough to give the hint that the hand is empty. |

Thanks Chad, I see what you mean. I think this is because I chose not to speak through the routine, I think I was trying to speak with my hands as much as possible, but it could've backfired. Maybe the patter itself is crucial for misdirection. On a side note; I am from Apex, I don;t know if you know where that is, kind of a place you just drive through.

The vanish is Geoff Latta's.
Not sure the basic structure has sufficient integrity to permit the performer to claim the coins are gone and move on from there. Other approaches have included taking the last coin onto the EG pile then doing a careful transfer of all to CP to get a sucker vanish for the last coin.

Yes, the last coin is Geoff Latta's "french pop" vanish. used for the last coin in a lot of similar routines (threefly-type routines and hanging coins routines)

Not too bad, but I agree with Chad – a briefer flash would serve you better. I like Jonathan's comment re "careful transfer"... careful indeed!

I like the idea of using Latta's French Pop. The Ramsay Subtlety and Curl Palm display could have been a little briefer as well, but other than that the routine looked good.
JT makes a gives a good idea as well, might be something to mess around with. I have an interesting fingertip vanish for the last coin in my "3 Coins Hangin'" routine, the coin literally melts away. -Bill |

All good advice. Although not relevant to the last coin vanish, you appear to deliberately expose the edge grip concealment prior to the feint. I don't think this is the best idea. If you want to get a retention vanish to do that, I think you might want to look into more edge grip techiques that you might find in print from Kainoa.

I second the Kainoa stuff (anyone surprised?)

Part of it I liked because it was a nice image of the coin going into the hand. But part of it I didn't like because it reveals the method of the concealment. I remember learning this routine and the emphasis in Roth's book about creating the illusion that the coin is flat against the fingertips. |
